About Pam

I was born and raised in Seattle and I have always loved animals!  So much so, when I was a kid my favorite movie was “Doctor Doolittle.” And not the one with Eddie Murphy (oops, I just outed my age – oh well!)

I wanted to be a veterinarian. Or maybe a zoologist.  I eventually settled on being a dedicated pet owner for the rest of my life.  But around age 20,  I did dip my toe in the professional animal care world when I took a  course which certified me as a veterinarian assistant.  I worked at a few vet clinics for about 2 years but found that I was too sensitive to animal pain and suffering and that working in that environment was not for me.  So I fell into office work and customer service which I was good at, but I never lost my love nor dream of one day working with animals.

In my mid 40’s, I started to get that itch again and I even considered starting my own pet sitting business.  But like many of us who have dreams of “following their bliss,”  I was too afraid to leave the financial security of my nine-to-five job.

But I realized I wasn’t getting any younger (what?!) and went for it!  I was hired by a wonderful woman by the name of Sarah who despite my not having any hands-on pet sitting or dog walking experience, took a chance on me.  But after working for her amazing company for 4 and a half years, I decided to really go after my dream and become my own boss and start my own pet sitting company in 2017.    And Pam’s Loving Pet Care was born.

Even though this job is full of fun and joy for me every day, I take my job and communication with my clients very seriously.  And I treat each pet as if they were the most special animal on the planet - because they are!

Rest assured, when your pet is in my care, their safety (and fun!) is my #1 focus.
